New Albany Police officers being sworn in

ALBANY - The police department has 17 new officers on the force.

The officers will be sworn in Thursday afternoon, and Albany Police Chief Steven Krokoff and Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings will be there.

The State Police will also be swearing in new troopers soon.

1,500 potential officers have already signed up to take the upcoming exam.
