Man claiming to be from sealing company allegedly steals from Schenectady home

SCHENECTADY - Schenectady Police are warning residents to be careful about who they let in their homes.

An Albany man, claiming to be from a sealing company is facing charges tonight after police say he stole money and two diamond rings from a Schenectady home.

They say 42-year-old John Waterson tricked an elderly man into believing he was with a seal coating company.

Waterson allegedly went into the man's house and stole the items.

Police tracked him down later in the day.
