Cooling stations around the Capital Region open Tuesday

In anticipation of the intense heat blanketing the area, several stations are set to open Tuesday.

In Albany, the cooling stations are located at:

  •  Giffen Elementary School–  274 South Pearl Street
  •  North Albany Academy– 570 North Pearl Street
  • Schuyler Academy– 676 Clinton Avenue
  • Delaware Avenue Library– 331 Delaware Avenue
  • New Scotland Library– 455 New Scotland Avenue

In addition to the cooling stations, the City’s two main swimming pools (Lincoln Park and Mater Christi), and 6 spray pools will be open as scheduled.

Montgomery County also set up many cooling stations.

  • Amsterdam – Horace Inman - Center 53 Guy Park Avenue
  • Canajoharie – Canajoharie Library - 2 Erie Boulevard
  • Fonda – Town of Glen Town Office Building - 7 Erie Street Fultonville
  • Fort Plain – Fort Plain Senior Center - 204 Canal Street
  • St. Johnsville  – St. Johnsville Community Center and Village Hall - 16 Washington Street
