Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)

Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is getting a bipartisan boost in the effort to curb sexual assault in the military.

Senators Rand Paul of Kentucky and Ted Cruz of Texas are joining Gillibrand in the effort to curb assaults by removing such cases from the chain of command.

Gillibrand and the co-sponsors of the bill say that victims fear retaliation for reporting sexual assault cases.
