QUEENSBURY - A Glens Falls mother will spend at least one year behind bars for lying to police to cover the fact that her boyfriend murdered her son.

Jennie Mattison, 24, was sentenced Tuesday morning for hindering prosecution. A judge gave her a minimum of one year and a maximum of three years in state prison.

She could have received up to four years in prison.

Mattison's now ex-boyfriend Brandon Warrington was found guilty in June of beating 5-year-old Gary Carpenter to death last year.

Mattison testified Warrington made her tell police she found her son unconscious on his bed.
