Cuomo says he won't advise Weiner

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who is head of New York state's Democratic party, says it isn't up to him to tell scandalized mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner to exit stage left from what he calls a political comedy.

Cuomo continues to describe the hoopla around Weiner's run for New York City mayor as theater, and says he won't go near the stage.

On Long Island Monday, he says you can only laugh at the antics of Weiner and his continuing "sexting" scandal. Otherwise, he says, New Yorkers would have to cry.

Cuomo says it's not up to him who runs. But he says it's up to voters to decide who wins, adding that this is just the first act of the show.
