MENANDS - The family that owns a popular lunch spot in Schenectady is now about to open a diner in Albany County.
Tommy Plakas has given Broadway Diner in Menands an overhaul.
He ran newest lunch in Schenectady for many decades.
But he's handed it over to family and he's starting this new diner, which will be open every day from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.
He will be bringing over the hot dogs and secret sauce that made newest famous.
“The right thing to do is to be good with the people. Not overcharge. And be friendly. Be fair and the people when they walk into this place, be the best host you can be to bring them back,” he said.
Broadway Diner is scheduled to have its grand opening at the beginning of next week.
