Robbers target cigarettes instead of cash

COLONIE - It wasn't cash, but cigarettes that suspects were looking for in two separate robberies.
The first robbery happened around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning, at the APlus Mini Mart on Exchange Street. A clerk and two customers were pepper sprayed and forced into the bathroom. Around 50 cartons of cigarettes were stolen. No one was seriously hurt.
Meantime, State Police have made arrests in a separate robbery at QWIX Mart on Delaware Turnpike early Wednesday morning. Police say $200 worth of cigarettes were stolen there.
Christopher Slatcher, 19, and Dylan Loucks, 17, of Voorheesville now face burglary charges. Scott Hill, 20, faces charges for possession of stolen property.
