BETHLEHEM – Police say they’ve arrested three people accused of abandoning a dog in Glenmont.

The severely malnourished Shih Tzu was found over the weekend along Route 9W. It was covered in sores. Bethlehem police also say the dog’s hair was so matted it had to be sedated in order to be groomed.

Under arrest are 23-year-old Jennelle Houghtaliing, 47-year-old Joyce Mainville and 24-year-old Keith Whitten, all of Selkirk.

Police say the arrests were the result of tips from the public.
