ALBANY - The re-trial of former Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno took a small step forward Tuesday afternoon.
Bruno's legal team met with prosecutors and Judge Gary Sharpe to go over a number of issues.
A week ago the Circuit Court of Appeals denied Bruno's claim that re-trying him on two corruption charges would constitute 'double jeopardy.'
A jury convicted the retired state senator on the two counts in late 2009 but the United States Supreme Court determined the standard that was applied wasn't correct.
No firm decision was made at Tuesday's conference.
The earliest a second trial could begin would be around December 1.
