SLINGERLANDS - A homeowner is hospitalized after her home caught fire.
Drivers noticed the smoke from the road at 1399 New Scotland Road and called the fire department at around 1:30 Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters battled heavy smoke and flames to get in and rescue the elderly resident.
“There was flames visible from the back of the house. It was difficult for the fire departments to get in there to even start a rescue attempt, but they were able to quickly suppress the initial fire and make a very rapid entry into the house to effect a rescue,” said Det. Adam Hornick of Bethlehem Police
