STEPHENTOWN - A pair of cattle ranchers in Rensselaer County are dealing with thousands of dollars in damage, after they say vandals struck over the weekend.
Janette and Leo Roberts raise cattle at their farm in Stephentown.
Sometime Friday night, they say someone tore up their hay field, leaving behind a trail of 'tire' tracks.
The damage, they say, tops $4,000.
"If anybody had cows or horses, they would know that this is a hay field. This is not a race track. This is not where you just pull in and speed up somebody's land. This is terrible. This makes you sick,” said Janette Roberts.
She adds they have no insurance to cover the damage, and will have to pay for it out of their retirement savings.
State Police are investigating.
