Most of the absentee ballots in the race for Saratoga County Sheriff were counted on Tuesday, and they show that Michael Zurlo has maintained his lead over Jeff Gildersleeve.
Zurlo had already declared victory, even though Gildersleeve had not conceded.
“I delivered my message to the residents of Saratoga County to the last four months. It showed today with my primary victory. I will continue from this day forward to still resonate my message with them,” says Zurlo.
The Board of Elections says they won't have an official tally until Wednesday.
Zurlo and Gildersleeve are running for the office held by Jim Bowen, who is retiring.
The Democrat and Conservative in the race is Phil Lindsey.
