Governor Andrew Cuomo has directed that flags on all state government buildings be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, to honor victims of Monday's Navy Yard shooting in Washington, D.C.
The flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on Friday.
In a statement, the governor says he joins all Americans in mourning the 12 innocent lives lost during the tragic and senseless attack.
And on behalf of all New Yorkers, he extends his deepest sympathy to the families of the victims.
