FORT EDWARD - General Electric says it wants to close its plant in Fort Edward and transfer all the work to a facility in Clearwater, Florida.
The company says they intend to close, but no final decision has been made.
The Fort Edward plant has been making electrical capacitors for 70 years.
Closing the plant would affect about 200 production workers and salaried employees.
GE says it will discuss the move with the union representing production workers.
The union has 60 days to try and negotiate with the company and fight to keep the jobs here.
