BALLSTON SPA - A man was sentenced Friday afternoon to 19 years to life in prison for murdering his own mother.
Investigators say Joshua McWain fought with his mother because she wanted him to do more chores or move out.
"He was angry with his mother over not doing household chores. Not doing the dishes, over not keeping the place clean. And he was just done with her telling him what to do," Saratoga County District Attorney Jim Murphy said.
The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to using a floor buffer and vacuum cleaner to beat his mother to death. He then buried Carol Stanford's body under a shed at their home on Daniels Road in Greenfield.
