COLONIE – The budget standoff may continue in Washington, but the New York Army National Guard 42nd Combat Aviation Brigade based in Albany is on its way to Kuwait.
The men and women boarded a plane bound for Fort Hood, Texas. That’s where they’ll train a couple of weeks before deploying to Kuwait for an estimated yearlong mission.
Eighty soldiers are on this job locally. They will join 200 Guard members from around the state. In Kuwait they will assist an aviation brigade.
