A petition is now circulating calling for a tougher sentence for Dennis Drue.

He's the man who pleaded guilty last week to causing a deadly crash on the Northway that killed two Shenendehowa High School students.

He had alcohol and pot in his system and had been texting and speeding before crashing into an SUV packed with teenagers coming home from a basketball game.

Drue faces five to 15 years in prison when sentenced.

So far, more than 1,300 people have signed the online petition.
