The owner of a local dairy farm damaged by fire is talking about the community's response.

The cause of Friday's large fire at Peter's Dairy Farm in Castleton is still under investigation. 28-young stock were killed in the fire on Brookview Road. The owner tells us he is extremely thankful for all the community support he has received in the past 24-hours.

"The outpouring of support from the community has been outstanding, the response by the local fire companies was tremendous, and in essence they were able to save the house. We had a number of farmers show up here with their trailers," says owner Paul Peter.

Peter also says they are still unsure about plans for the future. They are waiting for insurance and will take it from there.
