WATERVLIET - A viewer wrote in to NewsChannel 13 Waste Watchers wanting to know why tow trucks have been parked for years in the construction zone between exits 23 and 24 on the Thruway. They wanted to know who was paying for that.

NewsChannel 13 contacted the Thruway Authority and found out that the state is paying Dawson's Towing of Watervliet  $1.5 million over the three-year construction project to provide four trucks, two large specialty trucks and two smaller flatbed loaders.

They clear disabled or damaged vehicles, clear debris and assist State Police in that area when needed.

The project is due to wrap up before the end of the year.
