Police are releasing more information about a report of shots fired in Troy.

On Saturday, Troy police responded to a call for shots fired in the area of Hutton Street and Old Sixth Ave. around 10:30pm. A short time later, Green Island police stopped a car on Lower Hudson Ave for speeding.

According to police, three passengers fled the vehicle, but the driver stayed. Police detained the driver, 18-year-old Rayquan Murphy and say a Green Island officer uncovered three handguns from the back seat.

Troy Police were called to the scene with a K-9. Officials say the K-9 was able to sniff out another suspect, 20-year-old Aquell Tarver, who was hiding in a culvert.

Both men at this time are charged with Felony Criminal Possession of a Weapon. They were arraigned Sunday morning in Green Island and are due in court Tuesday night. Police believe they are connected to the reports of shots fired in Troy.

The investigation continues. Authorities believe they are looking for two more suspects. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
