Watervliet family of seven given clothing by Red Cross after fire Monday morning

WATERVLIET – The Red Cross is helping a family of seven after a fire at their home in Watervliet.

Fire officials say the fire broke out at a home on Sixth Avenue around 4:30 Monday morning.

They say a pile of clothes in the basement caught fire.

Crews were able to put out the flames using just a fire extinguisher.

No one was injured but the Red Cross did help the family following the fire.

They say three adults and four children were given clothing.
