SARATOGA - There's a new Sheriff in Saratoga County.

James Bowen is stepping down as the longest tenured sheriff in the state.

Michael Zurlo will replace Bowen. He's defeated Phil Lindsey and Jason Longton.

Zurlo was a 32-year member of Sheriff Bowen's department before leaving to become a Town Judge in Stillwater.

"Day one go in there and build on his successes. I have some fresh, ideas, technology, continue to keep our neighborhoods a safe place to live,” says Zurlo

Zurlo succeeds Jim Bowen,  who is retiring after 41 years as Sheriff.
