One of the last Medal of Honor recipients from World War II is honored in a new stamp series being launched on Veterans Day, and he's a man from the Capital Region.

Among the nine veterans still living is 88-year-old Francis Currey of Selkirk

He was a 19-year-old private when he received the medal of honor for his heroic acts during the Battle of the Bulge.

Currey is being honored at an event in Albany on Friday afternoon.

The U.S. Postal Service will release the stamps during a ceremony on Monday in Washington, D.C.
