SARATOGA SPRINGS – A community group opposing casino gambling in Saratoga is holding its first public meeting Monday night.

SAVE Saratoga, or Saratogians Against Vegas-style Expansion, is organizing a meeting after 57 percent of Saratoga Springs voters voted against the Casino proposition.

The proposition passed in New York State and Saratoga is a proposed location for a casino.

SAVE Saratoga argues that casinos drain local businesses and burden taxpayers and services like fire and police.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the City Council Room on Broadway.
