The Halfmoon Town Board is expected to ask a newly elected supervisor to start his job a little early.
Kevin Tollisen won the election in November but the term doesn't start until January.
Current Supervisor Mindy Wormuth cited medical reasons when she resigned last week, but she's also facing federal charges.
Wormouth is accused of stealing $6,000 from her campaign fund and of lying to investigators about an alleged bribe.
