SARATOGA – Saratoga Springs Police have revoked hate crime charges against two men arrested over the weekend.

Police say 24-year-old Luis Garcia, of Brooklyn, and 22-year-old Shayne Richardson of Saratoga Springs were involved in a fight on Pavilion Row at around 4 a.m. on Sunday.

Police have not released many details, but say one victim is being treated at Saratoga Hospital, while the second did not suffer serious injuries.

The men were initially charged with a hate crime, but after a meeting Monday morning between Saratoga’s District Attorney and Saratoga Springs Police Chief, those charges have been dropped pending an investigation.

The men still face assault charges.
