ALBANY – A man has pleaded not guilty to charges he faces in connection with a robbery in Albany last year.

The Albany County District Attorney's Office says Eugene Royal, 17, helped lure the victim to a parking lot with four other men for a drug deal, then robbed him.

The victim needed emergency surgery after being shot in the stomach.

Royal is also accused of lying under oath, while one of the other suspects was on trial.

Earlier this year, Royal was arrested two separate times, for crimes involving a stolen car and motorcycle.

He's in the Albany County Correctional Facility.
