Police arrest two-time felon for trading stolen credit card for heroin

GREENWICH – Police say they arrested a two time felon from Greenwich for trading stolen credit cards for heroin.

Newschannel 13’s media partners at the Post Star report that Adam Besanceney was arrested on Wednesday.

He’s accused of stealing a credit card out of a purse at Greenwich Regional Medical Center.

Police say the 28-year-old used the card to make purchases at convenience store sin Greenwich, Cambridge and Schenectady.

He’s also accused of buying a $300 pre-paid Visa gift card with the stolen credit card and then trading the gift card for heroin.

All together, police say he bought about $400 of merchandise on the stolen card.

Besanceney has two prior felony convictions including one for a 2005 arson fire at the paper mill in Middle Falls.

He faces two counts of criminal possession of stolen property along with forgery and petit larceny charges.
