ALBANY - For Republican Assemblyman Jim Tedisco, mocking Democratic Governors is not unusual.

"I don't know if we should call him King Cuomo or Governor Cuomo," the Glenville Republican said. "I don't know what he's trying to be."

CSEA President Danny Donahue joined in, upping the criticism. "We, the people of this state, are sick and tired of being had by this moron."

Area legislators from both parties stood before a PEF state worker rally to oppose the Governor's proposals, which would close mental health, prisons and other facilities in locations statewide, including Wilton.

"At a time of projected budget surpluses, it is wrong, irresponsible and shortsighted of our governor to target needed facilities and necessa4ry jobs," said Senator Kathy Marchione (R - Halfmoon). "I strongly oppose the attempt to close Mt. McGregor Correctional Facility."

Speakers noted the irony of the Governor's call for two billion dollars in tax breaks to spur business development and attract jobs while moving to increase unemployment with state worker cuts that rally leaders consider unwise.

"Keep your hands off our state workers," Tedisco said.
