How do you handle regret ..

There are probably a host of reasons why I've been ruminating about roads not taken. One of them is a recent, sort of invite, from some high school friends to attend a mini-reunion. I wasn't part of that clique but I was friendly with the gals - and one of them and I have been in touch through Facebook more regularly. So when the reunion was proposed I said, count me in.

Then I started having second thoughts. Do they really want me? Will I be comfortable in their company? What about when they talk about events way back when that I wasn't part of, how will I feel?

Then my other inner voice said: get over yourself -- it's a get together with some gals who have no sway over your life NOW and a little trip down memory lane would be fun.

That got me thinking about some other choices I made because I worried about how others would perceive my actions. Hey, I'm the first born to old fashioned folks. It's taken years to move that pressure from my shoulders.

But back to the main point - regrets.

How often have you regretted what you DID vs what you DIDN'T do?

I realize you'll never know how things would have turned out if you did what you were fearful of - but heck, in the end, you'd have a great story to tell.

So as for my regrets - I have a few, but too few to mention - and I will go to that reunion. No regrets!

And as for the comment about listening to the universe -- as I was thinking about this post I read another one from, of all places, Backstage .. check it out .. especially the last line.
