WATERFORD - Hudson River Road between Schoolhouse Lane and Brookwood Road is back open to traffic, after a crash closed that section of the busy roadway for nearly nine hours.
One driver was airlifted to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries.
State Police say two vehicles were involved in the serious crash that happened just before 7 p.m. Monday. The police report says a commercial vehicle was pulling out of a driveway along Hudson River Road when a car hit the truck. The report states that car was "driving really fast" and did not have the headlights turned on.
The impact from the crash caused the driver of the car to become trapped in the vehicle. He was removed by the Halfmoon Fire Department and flown to Albany Med.
State Police say the driver of the truck had minor or no injuries.
Neither driver has been identified. It's not clear if any tickets have been, or will be, issued.
