ALBANY - The man accused of trying to kidnap two Capital Region college students will spend 12 years in state prison.

Anthony Collins was sentenced on one count of attempted kidnapping.

Prosecutors say he was caught on camera last October trying to abduct a University at Albany student at knife point on Western Avenue. A male student intervened and the woman ran away.

Police say Collins also approached a second female student. She also escaped.

Collins will spend five years on post release supervision following his prison sentence.
