A trial date is now set in the federal case of the former Halfmoon Town Supervisor accused of extortion.
Mindy Wormuth will stand trial on June 9 if a plea agreement isn't reached by June 5.
Wormuth is accused of extorting thousands of dollars to lobby state officials to legalize mixed martial arts, and she's charged with stealing thousands more from her campaign account.
She was indicted by a federal grand jury in October.
The trial date was set after Wormuth's attorney, E. Stewart Jones, asked for a continuance because he also represents former Sen. Joe Bruno in a trial scheduled to begin May 5.
According to court documents, Wormuth is receiving treatment for substance abuse.
