State Sen. Cecilia Tkaczyk's efforts to stop the state from importing the waste from fracking failed Tuesday morning.
The committee voted against moving her legislation forward.
She says she's disappointed in her colleagues.
“We don't allow hydraulic fracturing to take place in New York State. Why would we be importing the waste product from this process, which is the worst component of the entire process,” Tkaczyk said.
Tkaczyk says this is something that still needs to be addressed.
