WESTERLO – A Knox man is under arrest in connection with the horse killing in Westerlo over the weekend.
Albany County Sheriff’s office arrested 35-year-old Shawn Duncan on weapons and marijuana possession after searching his home.
Deputies found a stun gun along with several bows and arrows.
The search was part of the investigation into a horse that was shot and killed with a bow and target arrow on Annabelle Road.
The sheriff was the horse, Belle, was intentionally shot in the chest Saturday night.
Duncan is the son of the horse’s owners, Bob and Lorraine Duncan. He is not charged with killing the horse.
Duncan is in the Albany County jail without bail.
Authorities say he is a convicted felon.
