TROY - The retrial of the Troy man accused of killing his infant son resumed Monday morning.
Adrian Thomas was first convicted in 2009 but the verdict was overturned.
Just after his arrest, authorities told Thomas they needed to know exactly how he hurt his son in order to save the boy's life.
That was a lie, as the baby had already died.
An appeals court ruled that Thomas' confession should not have been used in the trial.
Now, both sides are focusing on the science in the case.
The prosecution says the boy died of a brain injury caused by Thomas.
The defense argues a bacterial infection was the cause of death.
