New York State is teaming up a pharmaceutical company to investigate the use of a marijuana extract to treat epileptic children.
The extract, known as Cannabidiol, does not get users high, but could help youngsters with drug-resistant epilepsies.
Clinical trials must be approved by the FDA.
The agreement comes as medical marijuana legislation is being pushed to the forefront of state politics.
