TROY — Mayor Lou Rosamilla announced Monday that Andrew Donovan will be Troy’s new city engineer.
Donovan will be overseeing the city’s civil engineering operations and will head Troy’s Code Enforcement bureaus.
Donovan’s appointment comes in the wake of Russ Reeves’ --Troy’s last city engineer -- abrupt resignation.
Reeves testified in front of Troy's City Council in April to express his concerns with the way two city demolitions were handled. In his testimony, Reeves said that Troy city officials were cutting corners on demolition projects and endangering city residents.
Rosamilla seemed hopeful about Donovan’s appointment.
“The City of Troy expects that our buildings, infrastructure and residents will be in safe hands with Mr. Donovan as the new city engineer,” the mayor said.
