NORTH ADAMS – A Massachusetts man is accused of buying and selling heroin in the West End of North Adams.
NewsChannel 13’s media partners at the Berkshire Eagle report that police arrested 32-year-old Michael Richard on drug distribution, possession with intent to distribute and conspiracy charges.
The investigation into Richard’s drug sales started in June when police started working with a confidential informant.
The informant frequently purchased heroin from Richard, who also goes by the nickname “Hambone”.
Thanks to the informant, police say they knew Richard would be buying heroin on Wednesday in order to sell the drug to customers.
They tracked the Union Street man to apartments on Greylock Avenue and then say they observed him selling heroin in two separate cars.
Police found 20 bundles of the drug when they arrested Richard as well as used syringes and some marijuana.
