Silence is not normally something heard on radio, but Capital Region radio stations will go dark for one minute at 8 a.m. on Tuesday in memory of a radio legend.

Bob Ausfeld died on Sunday from complications of heart surgery.

At the time of his death, he was general manager of Albany Broadcasting - which owns six radio stations in the Capital Region including Fly 92.3 and B95.5.

Other radio stations he played a role in during his 40 year career included PYX 106 and WGNA.
