FORT EDWARD - General Electric is pushing back the closing of its Fort Edward plant.
Plans to close the plant and move many jobs to Clearwater, Fla. were first announced last September. Despite much protest, the decision was made final two months later.
NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Post-Star report job cuts will not start until at least the third quarter of 2015. That’s later than the previously announced first quarter.
The Fort Edward plant was home to 177 manufacturing jobs and 20 salaried positions.
A small handful of those employees have already left the company.
