ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - What could happen with an investigation into allegations that Gov. Andrew Cuomo's administration meddled with the work of the Moreland anti-corruption commission? It's a simple question with no easy answers.

Even top legal experts say much about the case is complex.

They agree that any recent attempts to influence commissioners or conceal documents - after it shut down and Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara took its files and issued subpoenas - could expose administration officials to federal charges.

However, legal experts say any improper interference with the commission while it was operating to shield Cuomo allies - suggested in news reports and denied by Cuomo - would be an issue for a state prosecutor to pursue.

None so far, including those who were directly involved with the commission, has volunteered.
