Christmas trees and ticks

Here's something you may not think about when buying a Christmas tree this year.

That tree could be carrying ticks.

Because it's been so warm, the New York State Department of Health says adult deer ticks are still currently active.

They will continue to be until temperatures are consistently below 40 degrees.

So, keep that in mind if you're buying a fresh cut tree.
