WASHINGTON - The Capital Region's representatives in the House stuck firmly with their decisions earlier this week, including Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-Greenport. She voted against the plan.
"I voted no because I didn't think the bill was good enough. I thought it did not protect the taxpayers enough. It didn't have sufficient oversight and accountability and it had no regulation of these instruments that caused the problem," Gillibrand said.
While Gillibrand voted no, Rep. Mike McNulty, D-Green Island remained firm on his earlier decision and again voted yes.
Rep. John Olver of Massachusetts and Vermont's lone representative, Peter Welch, also voted to pass the plan.
