The AMD spinoff company will officially buy the first 223 acres of its site at the Luther Forest Tech Park today. The company has accepted $1.2 billion in incentives from the state. The company is going to build a $4.2 billion dollar chip plant. It will employ 1,400 people. They will start clearing the site in Malta and Stillwater next week. M+W Zander is the project manager for construction of the computer chip plant. The College of Nanoscale Science at the University at Albany is assisting them by hosting a job fair this evening. Positions available include electrical and mechanical designers, engineers and estimators, accountants and purchasing agents.
