Jackson's death impacts Capital Region

Michael Jackson's sudden death in California is being felt thousands of miles away, here in the Capital Region.

Whether you love him or hate him, chances are you had a converastion ... or ten ... about him today and tru fans did more than just talk about him.

At an out of the way record shop in Albany's West Hill, the first sale of the day was a Michael Jackson CD and CD's aren't even what The Last Vestige is know for.

But fans know they'll find what they need there, a mish mosh of music and today, Michael Jackson.

"I'm sure there will be plenty of people coming in looking for Michael Jackson LP's," said Christopher Lawrence of The Last Vestige.

Where else in town would you go to find albums by a man who hasn't had a hit in decades but a man who apparently many people still adore.

"Music is timeless. It holds important moments in everyone's life. Music is one of the most treasured things to people generally," adds Lawrence.

Some call renewed interest spurred by death, cultural re-incarnation.

"After you get a big name people come in and are generally, I need to get that cuz they've been sleeping on it for ages," says Lawrence.

Just like the vinyl bearing his name, Michael Jackson will live on forever with fans.

"We're doing a celebration for the best king, R&B, Hip Hop, Soul, we love you Michael Jackson, rest in peace," says Karavin Moody, who held a vigil for Jackson in Albany.
