Bus driver says ‘miracle’ that girl was not hurt

Bus driver says 'miracle' that girl was not hurt when speeding van passed bus.

Brunswick-Brittonkill bus driver Barry Sullivan helped save a 12-year-old girl’s life on Tuesday.

Sullivan was just opening the door to let the girl off the bus on Route 7 in Pittstown, when a van swerved into what would have been the girl’s path.

The quick-thinking bus driver quickly closed the door and threw out his arm to stop her from getting off.

The driver of that van is now facing charges.

The girl’s thankful father said Sullivan prevented a tragedy.
