November 15, 2017 07:42 PM

The Mohonasen School District held a job fair on Wednesday. They're looking for substitute teachers.

As NewsChannel 13’s Elaine Houston reported in her "In Depth" report last month, there is a shortage of subs statewide. It has left many school districts scrambling to cover their needs.

It is not just teachers, they're also short bus drivers and other positions as well.

K-12 administrator Deborah Kavanaugh says being a substitute has many benefits, but acknowledges not everyone is ready for it.

"It's important to have people that are committed to children and who are invested in having the ability to come in and work a flexible schedule and that want to be part of our community," explained Kavanaugh.
