Anthem changes emergency room visit rules
November 10, 2017 04:52 AM
Anthem has notified customers in a few states that they may have to foot the bill if they go to the emergency room for minor complaints.
That would limit emergency room visits to major problems like heart attacks or strokes. It's an attempt to crack down on unnecessary and pricey hospital trips.
So far, this affects patients in Kentucky, Georgia and Missouri, but Anthem says it plans to add other states where necessary.
